Check out the winner of the Literary Review's Bad Sex in Fiction award as reported by the Guardian. I've read worse personally. For a taste of the rest of the nominees, look here.
Apparently, according to this blog, the history of the award was to remind authors that sex has no place in literary fiction. I beg to differ - there are a number of literary novels that could do with a good bonk scene...
But I do agree with one thing - love scenes are very, very hard to write. Even worse when the children are hanging off your arm and the husband is looking over your shoulder wondering what you're doing...

Have had more contact with Anna at Mills and Boon. Am now due for feedback on my revisions for Kate (plus on another partial they're also considering) next week! Argh. They will also let me know then which one to continue with. Double argh. So now I don't know what to do. I guess there's always the joys of editing....
Anyway, stumbled across this on the Dear Author blog. This is the Romance Apologia Scale. For everyone who needs a snappy comeback when someone says to you "You read romance?" (as if this was somehow akin to murdering small animals...)

Kidnapped by the Maverick, Moderately Well Off Psychiatrist
No, it's not the title of the new wip. Just come back from Sydney after being taken there for a surprise 10th wedding anniversary holiday by my husband. A fabulous time was had and am now wishing I was back there!
Sadly I am now back home and have to figure out what to do now. Still waiting on feedback from Anna about Chasing Kate and another partial that is also under consideration. Can't decide whether to keep working on Kate or just sit on the computer aimlessly surfing the net. Hmmm, it's a tricky one.

Website
I am trying to compose a website. No idea why, just seemed like a good idea at the time. It's even lamer than this blog sadly.
So, it you're after something interesting, try this link to an article in the Independent. It has a slideshow of classic Mills and Boon covers through the decades. I particularly like the interesting use of perspective in Man and Waif.

Contest Entry Revisions
Well, sent my revisions off to Anna at Mills and Boon. Worked all weekend on re-writing the first three chapters completely, not to mention the synopsis. And of course after I'd sent them, I saw more holes in my synopsis etc etc. Argh. Reminds me of submitting essays at university except this is much worse! Now all I have to do is wait for my feedback and then the phone call. I'm hoping they'll want to see the rest of the story...of course that will mean having to finish writing the wretched thing...
